Tutorial : Creating A Custom Google Site Search With Your Own Controls In Under 10 Minutes
In case you haven't stumbled across it yet, Google Site Search (GSA) is a brilliant quick way to integrate search onto your website. It costs as little as $100 a year for up to 20,000 searches and it can be implemented within less than an hour, if you know what you are doing. One issue I have whenever I have integrated a GSA, is that I always need to integrate my own CSS and html elements and, after a day of searching, I was able to develop my own .net solution using their custom API. I'm not going to talk you through the API as there is plenty of information here. Instead I'm going to share the code with you that will give you full control over your mark-up, which should take you less than 10 minutes to implement. This code sample was created using C#, but it is pretty easy to change for any language. Also note: you will have to put in your own GSA key in the relevant bit.
