Reset Your WordPress Password via the database

If you are anything like me, I have a million passwords to remember…  however..  sometimes my brains seems to forget these passwords.  I then need to Google how to reset the password via the database and spend another 10 minutes trying to find the right article so I’ve finally decided to write one myself.

  1. In WordPress if you have access to your WordPress database, log-in into it via PhpAdmin or whatever program you use and go to the ‘wp-users’ table.
  2. Find the account you want to reset (you can see find it in the user_login column)
  3. Change the user_pass column to this $P$B2YDN9aqHbAgJLngsSebasq70oYJVX0
  4. You can now log into your WordPress account with the password of ‘password’

It’s as simple as that – enjoy 🙂
