The Quick and Easy Way To Find Your EPiServer Websites CMS Version Number

If you have to support a lot of Episerver websites, it’s useful to know which version of Episerver you are dealing with. If you have access to the code base you can check the Nuget package version, if you only have access to the Episerver backend then you have a few more options.

In today’s guide, I’ll will talk you through three ways to find the Episerver version.

Easiest

I think the easiest way to find the version number is to click on the ‘Report’ tab in the top nav bar in the editor.

episerver_version_2

In the ‘Report’ dialog the version number is shown in the title bar. This trick also works with the admin page

episerver_version_1

Although if you have lots of tabs open you may need to view source. The last option is to use the ‘Plug-in Manager’episerver_version

In the ‘Config’ -> ‘Plug-in Manager’ page, you will be able to see the assembly version of the sites Episerver.dll, this also shows the version number

Conclusion

Today’s guide has been short but hopefully useful. The quickest way to see the version number is to open the report dialog as it’s right there in front of your eyes. You can also find the version number from the admin title or the plug-in manager, but this usually requires a few more clicks.
