This year, most of my learning came from YouTube. I think a YouTube premium account is an essential product. These are the channels that helped make me a better software craftsperson this year:

Code with Ania Kubรณw: Learn how to build games using Javascript. My favourite videos this year have been Code Mario in JavaScript with Kaboom.js! and 2d Breakout Game in JavaScript tutorial.
Scott Hanselman: Tutorials on C#, Windows and .NET. My favourite videos this year have been How to make the ultimate Terminal Prompt on Windows 11 and Get Busy Living with Abel Wang tutorial.
I Am Tim Corey: Lots of C# and ASp.NET tutorials. My favourite videos this year have been .NET 6 Hot Reload Controversy Explained and .NET Foundation Crisis - What is Happening, Why, and What Now tutorial.
Tech Source: Set-up Wars is a great watch if you are trying to improve your home office set-up. This series shows weekly submissions of peoples computer set-ups. I am very envious of some of these set-ups ๐
Pusher: Watch videos taken at most of the major developer meet-ups in London.

Books
It is said that a reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. I have always been an avid read. This year I've read some great books. Out of the 40 books I have read this year, this list represented the must reads:

I used to think that audiobooks were a waste of time, however, this year I got into Audible this year. I lift weights and run most days. Normally, I listen to some raging metal to get my blood pumping, however, this year I gave Audible a try and its changed my life. This year I managed to listen to some big ass books that I wouldn't have tried to tackle normally. If you haunt signed up for Audible I recommend you give it a try. The best audioible books I listened to this year are:
- The Stormlight Series by Brendon Sanderson - Warning title length is about 250 hours of listening!
- A Promised Land by Barack Obama
- Will by Will Smith
Podcasts
I am not a massive Podcast listener, however, there are three podcasts that I regularly listen to are:
- Property Hub - I own a property rental company within the UK. This podcast talks all about buying properties, the process, the strategies. if you want to start a rental business, listen to this.
- My First Millions - Discets successful companies and provides interesting interviews with their founders
- Happyness Lab - A science-based podcast aimed at trying to make you happier
Movies
What resource list would be complete without a list of TV series and movies to watch over Xmas ๐ ๐ ๐ . I like action movies. Screw these lists with lots of artistic and clever movies. Give me the action ๐ฅ
Documentaries
These two great documentaries that I think everyone would enjoy:
- 14 Peaks Nothing Is Impossible - Watch Nimsdai Purja climb all 14 of the world's 8,000-meter peaks in seven months.
- The Rescue - See how the children who got trapped in the cave in Thailand got rescued
TV Series
Being trapped inside due to the pandemic has meant a lot of TV watching in 2021. These are the series that kept me sane this year:
